JW Space Systems

Installation instructions and terms of use are available on the download page.

System Requirements

PC or Mac with Finale 97/98 or Finale 2000/2001/2002/2003 installed.

Description

The JW Space Systems plug-in is used to quickly place multiple staff systems evenly across the page. [Note: A staff system is not the same as a staff. A staff is usually the same as an instrument. A staff system is a collection of staves.] The main use is for smaller score (or big scores with lots of parts removed by using optimization) and for extracted parts. All spacing will take place within the page - staff systems will not be moved to the next page.
It is very important that you make sure that your score is fully updated before applying the plug-in.

Options

Process range: Select on which pages you want to re-space the staff systems.

Extra page margins: Additional free space above the first staff system and below the last staff system on the page. Within these margins no staff systems will be placed. Please note that both the Top and Bottom values are positive.

Keep topmost system still: Don't move the topmost staff system on the page (on pages with more than one staff system). When this option is checked, the Top value in Extra page margins is ignored.

Include existing gaps in calc: When this option is checked, the relative distances between the staff systems on the page will be taken into account when calculating the new spacing. When this option isn't checked, the gaps will be the same between all staff systems on the same page.

Single systems: These options are used when only one big staff system exists on the page. If the Extra page margins are higher than the remaining space on the page, the message Extra margins are too wide. Page x was not processed. will be displayed.
